COMRED-Coastal & Marine Resource Development


COMRED was established in 2006 as a non-profit organisation involved in coastal and marine research and development.

Located on the Kenyan Coast with offices in Mombasa and Kilifi counties, COMRED has committed to supporting reliable, affordable, and effective solutions to various environmental issues that affect coastal communities.

COMRED’s work spans a broad range of areas. We focus on conservation of marine and terrestrial resources; research on coastal and marine resources including urban environments; capacity building, particularly of communities and upcoming practitioners (particularly students and interns); and assistance to communities in the design of projects as well as project implementation.
